Six learning agents share a small town: four warehouse workers, a farmer and a police officer. Nothing is automatic. Every coin that changes hands was handed over, traded or grabbed by someone who chose to. Pick a training stage and watch what they have learned. This first version taught everyone to steal, which led to the full society (v2).
| Agent | Cash | Hunger | Food | Asks | Status |

Jobs. Workers carry crates from the warehouse shelves to the loading dock; each shipped crate earns 5¢ from the outside world, the only money entering the town. The farmer pays 1¢ to plant a plot, waits for it to grow and harvests 2 food.
Food. Hunger rises every step. Food is only sold hand to hand: a buyer stands next to someone holding food and pays that person's asking price. Sellers raise or lower their own price.
Crime. Anyone can grab cash from a neighbour. People nearby see it and remember. A police officer who saw a theft can detain the thief and take their cash, then decide whether to hand any back.
Paying the police. Nobody is charged. Anyone can hand an officer a coin, so police are only paid if people decide protection is worth it.
